Devil's drift~

Zuru one~ Not my home

A home. A place where you can call your sanctuary. A place you can feel safe...where your heart feels at peace and your mind at ease. But what if you were not allowed of that? What if you could no longer find a safe place to cry...where would you go? Where would you run off to?

The night sky was lit ablaze with it's numerous stars. Each shining with all it's glory. Each bringing hope for the present. It was a rare sight to behold on this side of the earth. Stars rarely shine, but for some reason...there they were tonight. Up on the roof of a run down building were two teenagers. A boy and a girl. Both enojying the rare sight above them, but with different hearts. The long haired girl with cobalt blue eyes sat upon the edges of the roof as though to jump. Her maroon coloured dress and brown hair swayed with the cold wind of the night. As her heart felt lost and shaken...she had nowhere else to go to...nowhere else to cry. Her father was drunk again. And was abusing her mom brutally. She could do nothing...and to make matters worse her exams were tomorrow. And her home was filled with angry screams and cries. She was for sure going to fail tomorrow...

Taking her books she ran away for the night. In hope to find a place to study. But even the place she always go to when she needs to be alone had now been occupied by this strange boy. She felt hopeless...she couldn't even cry in peace. She felt like the world hated her...like there was no longer a reason to live. She could just jump off now...and have no regrets. At least...maybe then she would find a place of peace in death. The long fringed haired boy however was looking towards the stars with great optimism. His slight but carefree smile made him look as though he didn't had a care in the world. But surprisingly, he asked her a very depressing question. "You going to jump?"

Stunned for words, the girl gave it a thought before replying sadly. "Maybe."

The boy's smile grew widder. He reached out his hand for her's before asking, "Would you trust me?"

Starring with doubt, the young teenage girl thought to herself. "Why not? It's not like my life matters...right?" And she replied confidently while taking hold of his hand, "Yeah. Why not?"

Soon enough with one small step. They jumped down this fifty story building. Slowly accelerating, the boy's hand was still holding on to her's tightly. For some reason he wasn't going to let go. She soon realized that but didn't do anything about it...to her at that point of time...it no longer mattered. Nothing mattered. She was to die. And end her suffering.

[But who would have thought...]

However all of a sudden, a sleek black motorcycle crashed through the walls from the inside of the building and ended up mid-air right below them. "Hang on." the boy suggested as he and the teenage girl landed onto the cycle. Speeding down the building, the boy was enjoying every moment of this extreme stunt. The girl however was too stunned to do anything and just held on as tightly as she could. Drifting on the sides of the building to slow down the speed of the cycle. The friction against the walls made a trail of grey smoke behind them. With a push of a button, the mini jets of the cycle were fired. The cycle made a jump off the wall just before it crashed into the ground and made a somersault before landing safely.

It took a few moments before the girl realized what had just happened. She was still alive...her suffering wasn't going to end anytime soon. Frustrated, she screamed angrily at the boy, "I thought you told me to trust you!" Puzzled...the boy defended himself, "What? I thought you were trusting me to get you down alive! Unless you were actually...oh..."

The girl was quiet after that...it was too akward to say anything anyways. She just simply kept her head down...her eyes brimming with tears. How she wished that there would be someone there to hold her...someone she could turn to...and just then, the boy lifted up her head, wiped away her tears and gave her a bright smile. "Well...you jumped didn't you? And you're alive right? So go on living. Without doubt, there will always be a time when life breaks you into pieces. Tears will surely fall, but let them... It's always okay to cry...no one will blame you. But after that, I hope you will stand back up...and even more hopefully with a smile. There will be people who will walk your path besides you, but no one can walk it for you... Since it's inevitable...why not do it with a smile?"

[Yes indeed...who would have thought...that I would fall for this crazy guy...]
