Seven strikes towards defeat
Day was approaching soon, the original rays of the sun begin to fill up the giant crater which emerged from the ground a few days ago. Deep down that crater, lied a world where many spirits rested. 'Hell'.
"A voice...I'm not dreaming this time...am I?"
Krion thought as he looked around and saw no one there except his siblings. "She's...calling to me?" he questioned himself as he stood up and looked into the distance of the tunnel. 'The feeling...it's stronger then ever now...it feels like your so close, and yet so far.' he whispered as he took another step forward towards the unknown infront of him.
"If you wish to leave first, be my guest." a different voice said as Krion took another step forward.
This time, Krion recognized that voice. He paused for a moment before replying, "You sure? It's quite far away you know?"
Hien smiled as he thought about how Krion always asks the obvious, no matter how determined he gets..."Does it matter? Your still going...no?"
"Hah...guess your right...thanks." Krion said as he realized once he went...he might not return back alive.
Hien felt confused as he heard his brother thanking him for some unknown reason and asked anoyingly, "For what?"
"Everything."
Krion replied with a slight smile, and soon disappeared into the darkness of hell.
Meanwhile, on the other side of hell...Ledius approached the resting place of his wife. However, before he could enter...a ghostly knight riding on his horse appeared from nowhere to stop him.
"Hault demon, within these doors lies the resting place of all who had died two years ago...I cannot permit you to enter and disturb their peace."
Ledius drew his sword, and slashed down the knight's horse with a series of strokes from his blade. Then while the knight is caught in the motion of the falling horse, Ledius finished him with a stab in the chest before replying to the knight...
"You don't need to...I permit myself."
As the doors opened, Krion saw a large room filled with many tombs and portals behind each one. It was a sight to behold...each portal would led to the resting place of a different soul. And in each resting place, would be a peaceful world...where the soul would rest in peace.
"Luna Lockheart." Ledius whispered as he read the name on the tomb in front of him.
Back on the other side of hell, a strong power was approaching the two siblings...soon they saw a middle aged man wearing a worn out coat walking slowly towards them.
"Welcome to hell, children of Ledius." the man said, as he took off his coat to reveal his robotic body. His arms, legs and everything down his neck was covered in armor which connected directly to his nerve system. His hair a bright blonde, matched the golden eyes he used to stare at the two surprised siblings.
"An acquaintance of our father no doubt." Hien replied with an odd sense of joy.
"Yes...a fellow God Slayer. The name's Kenyin, and on behalf of the first generation of God Slayers I've come to...exterminate the both of you." he replied with a smile and stood a stance, prepared for any in coming attacks his foe may use.
"Hien..." Reina said worriedly as she approached her brother.
"Sorry Reina, but I have to fight him alone this time...in order to prove to myself...I've got to do it alone." Hien replied sadly as he drew his father's devil-winged sword.
Seeing this, Reina hugged her brother tightly and then whispered to his ear,"I know I can't stop you...I also think that all this fighting is quite meaningless...but I made a promise to Krion five years ago...and because of that..."
*Flashback*
It was on a cloudy rainy night...the two siblings stood at the alley of their hometown without even facing each other.
Soon one of them broke the silence and said,"You know...though he doesn't say it, I can see it in his eyes...he depends alot on your surpport just to go on. So promise me kay? That you'll stand by his side no matter what silly path he takes."
After that, there was another moment of silence...
Reina closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the rain hiting down on her face as she thought of all the times Hien had been there for her. She had always thought that she depended on her brothers alot, not knowing that one of them depended back on her as well...but now she knew. That no matter what happens, she would gladly smile back on him...even if he had done a great sin...even if she was feeling sad...she would support him all the way.
And with that, she replied sweetly, "Promise."
"You have my fullest support to go all the way bro!" she said cheerfully as she finally let go of her brother, and gave him her blessings.
Feeling touched and yet a little confused by his sister's words, Hien took a final look at his sister before turning back to face his foe.
"Are you ready son of Ledius?" Kenyin asked as he started to regret having to fight Hien after seeing that scene.
Hien lifted his sword and then replied in a taunting manner "Bring it on...God Slayer."
Meanwhile, in the resting place of Luna Lockheart...Ledius took a moment to relax before commenting on his wife's resting ground.
"Heh...you know...I would have never thought you would want to rest in such a place...it looks so different from what a normal lady would have wanted."
Luna stared at the black clouded sky and the rocky moutains which surrounded her before replying, "You think? Besides...I'm not a normal lady remember?"
Ledius giggled a bit before replying, "How could I forget? After all...when we wedded that day, there was such a large response from the Gods and demons..."
"It sure made a hell of a party though..." Luna joked as she remembered how one of the reapers accidentally knocked their wedding cake onto an unexpecting god...
"Yeah...it sure did...by the way, were you...lonely during the time I was gone for so long?" Ledius asked sadly...knowing that the answer would most likely be a negative one.
However surprisingly, Luna still looked as happy as ever as she replied, "To tell you the truth...I really did missed you alot. However while I was raising our children...oddly, they gave me joy in my life that I never knew before. And well...that gave me the strength to go on, till came the night of devil may."
Upon hearing what his wife had just said, Ledius became speechless...soon he stood back up and prepared to leave.
"So...your going again? So soon?" Luna asked sadly as she tried to grab her husband's hand. However, as she was just a spirit...it went right through his.
Ledius stopped for a moment before he turned back to answer his wife, "Yeah...there are many more things I have to settle first, but the next time I'm back...I promise...I'll stay for good."
"That'll...that'll be nice."
