How can I go on? In a world without you...
Things which seemed to matter before, no longer do. My heart feels heavy...as if I'm lying to myself, whenever I said...'I'm okay.'
Though I'm no longer lost. And I know what I must do...I can't help but feel this way. So away from you, so away...from my one and only light.
Sorrow which creates darkness...in every heart.
It seems...I can no longer hold back now.
I...I wish. I wish to be free again.
So...please...make me forget...
------------------------------------------------
A few days have past since the day they escaped from hell. The world now lies in fear and sadness. As they fought a what seems like a neverending battle against the invading demons. There's been no signs of Ledius or any of the three God Slayers lately, as if they had suddenly disappeared. Perhaps killed? No...not that easily...but there's a rumor going around of three demon slayers saving the innocent. Could it be them? Hien on the other hand is still waiting for his chance to get even on his father. Reina naturaly following her brother, wheras Krion seem to be in a very weird trance lately...
But more importantly, a white modern looking castle have appeared from out of nowhere and now lies floating in the skies of their city. It seems the day of judgement have arrived.
Heaven saga~
Desend of the messengers of gods, 11 angels with no mercy.
In the comfort of the heavens,
"We are ready my lord." a demi god spoked as he kneeled down towards their overlord, their heavenly emperor.
"Then go, pass our judgement to the mortals." he replied as he signaled them to leave.
The leader of the group then stood up and started walking towards the gate of the heavenly palace, before being stopped by his lord's voice.
"And one more thing, Akari. Leave none alife."
The light blue haired god, wearing a matching robe strapped to his body and carring a twin silver dagger set around his waist. Replied with his crystal blue, cold eyes.
"Rest assured my lord. There will be no mercy."
And soon, the gate of the floating castle opened. Releasing eleven angels into the mortal world. As they flew out towards the night skies, Akari can't help but feel annoyed. As this wasn't the first time their overlord wanted to exterminate the humans. The reason? He wouldn't tell. And the last time they did it, he only sent one god. Which now lies dead...in the hands of a Lockheart. And even with that, it had been written in the records. That this was already the third time heaven has passed this very same judgement. And as the first two times it failed, the heavenly emperor would be murdered...by the hands of a God Slayer. And their names now lies entwined forever in the records. Ledius, Kenyin, Isenyu, Rinlee, and the infamous duo, Kane and Keith. Now...the question is, will history repeat itself once again?
'Ledius...' he whispered as he sensed the presence of this God Slayer. He then sent a message by mind to the angels he led. 'Spread out and carry out the sentence. I'll join you all shortly.' Soon, the ten angels all flew in different directions. Leaving behind a beautiful rain of white feathers. Akari then retracted back his wings, and fell downwards towards the presence.
Below him, a hooded Ledius in the allyway sensed the approaching god as well. Turning into his demon form he took off into the skies, drawing his sword. The two clashed blows against each and created a spectacular spray of sparks from the friction of two blades.
"Long time no see Akari." the demon greeted as he landed on one side of a rooftop. The god landed on the other side and greeted back as well, "Indeed, and I see your finally out of that firey prison."
"Yeah...so, have the judgement been carried out?" Ledius asked as he spotted an angel preparing to slay a mother and her child.
"Please...have mercy." the mother cried out, but her pleas seem useless towards the angel. With a swing of his sword, the blood of a loving mother had been spilled on to the floor which will soon turn a crimson red.
As Ledius witness the slaughter, he felt a sudden sense of uneasiness...many thoughts came to him...he turned back to face Akari again and saw his foe trembling.
"The one thing which we demons or gods can never feel or have...'a mother's love'. We were simply born by the seeds of God, to balance holyness and darkness... It is said that a mother's love is beautiful, and yet your angels...just murdered them without mercy... What has become of this world! What is God thinking! Tell me Akari...do you enjoy kill all these innocent people? Do you even understand why your fighting, why your your heart is struggling?" Ledius shouted angry as he realized how pitiful gods really were...it's no wonder Luna decided to leave that place. In search of her own heaven, a place which can comfort her.
Akari gripped his two daggers tightly, trying to control his feelings...but the wind blew back his hair, revealing his wet eyes.
"I...I regret now. I regret sparing your life at that time...if only I didn't. Then I wouldn't be this way...then I wouldn't have to realize the truth. I don't care even if it's a dream..."
Upon hearing this...Ledius kept quiet for awhile, before replying back to him. "Then...were you content in your dream? Were you happy? If you wasn't...then...wouldn't it be nothing more but just a nightmare? A life you can't control...is that what you want!"
Akari couldn't bear it any longer, his mind was so confused about the path he was on. Till a point he just had to let it all out.
"I...have just about enough of this! Today...you die!" he shouted as he dash faster then the normal eye could see.
"You won't feel any better till you admit it Akari!" Ledius commented as he blocked the first dagger and used his other hand to stop the other by grabbing it. Akari then pulled back his daggers as he dashed towards a different direction this time. Making a series of movements to confuse his opponent, Akari tried once more to stab away this thorn of his life. However, easily dodging it by taking a step back...Ledius sent a heavy punch towards Akari's stomach before making a spin and delivering a powerful kick from the back.
Crashing into the floor, Akari wasn't badly injured due to his God's protection...but he knew he couldn't win. This wasn't the same Ledius he had faced before...and he too wasn't as strong as he used to be. Perhaps the reason was because of his unsure heart, but if that is so...was Ledius right?
Why is he doubting his God? Why does he feel so uneasy? All these questions...he knew he can't find anywhere, but himself. However...none of this should matter now.
"In our lives...may it be a god's, a demon's or even a human's. We have many questions left unanswered...but that shouldn't be the thing stopping us from moving forward. So to the heck with it all now!" Akari decided as he once more lanuched another attack on Ledius. This time he created a wave of energy on one side before heading to another and releasing another wave in the split second on that side before moving on to another.
Barely dodging the waves by turning or moving from side to side, Ledius quickly drew his sword and defended from a physical incoming attack from Akari. As he held his ground during the impact, he felt himself being pushed back a bit...before having to dodge yet another wave of blue energy.
"I wonder..." he whispered as he held his sword forward awaiting for the next attack. True enough Akari approached from his back, and in the split second, from the right. However, once more just as they were about to colide...he retreated and attacked from the back again. This time, spining his body as quickly as he moved. Unable to react in time, Ledius was slashed five times on his back before being slashed upwards in to the air.
"A slash for a slash." Ledius commented as he spun back in mid-air and was just in time to stab through the god's protection, into Akari's stomach.
"What now Ledius? You going to capture my soul? Make me fight against my fellow gods?" Akari asked, as he pulled out the sword of the devil from his stomach.
"Would you rather end your existence in the world? And proceed to the resting place?" Ledius asked as he held his sword in between his eyes.
"No...there's still too much to be done. Allow me to fight by yourside. As a soul, as a spirit. Against gods...against demons. Until this madness finally ends." Akari replied as he kneeled down to Ledius. His stomach bleeding profusely...perhaps by doing this, his mind will finally find peace.
Bellow them, Hien and Reina had just finished their battle against an angel. "What have the mortals done to deserve such fate?" Hien asked as he stared back at the dead angel. It's once pure white feathers, now stained by the colour of blood.
"Perhaps this judgement. Is the reason why your father captured those demon's souls." Reina replied as she carried the baby away from her dead mother which they wasn't in time to safe.
"Perhaps...but are humans really going to just stand here and be slaughtered in the name of God?"
Meanwhile, in a nearby shelter...the other nine more angels had found themselves face to face with another heretic. Stretching out his black angel like wings, and fusing his twin swords into a double edged lance. His cold dead eyes, covered by his now white demon hair. Taunted coldly in a very annoyed voice.
"Is this heaven's judgement? Well...come on then! Aren't those humans behind this door your prey?"
The angels confused and surprised that anyone would speak to them in such a manner, quickly spreaded out to attack on all sides. Their once swords of justice and mercy, now swords of death and murder.
By using one hand to break the angel's protection, Krion quickly used his lance to slash down angel by angel. While he spun to slash another angel, his lance blocked the incoming swords around him before slashing it's true target. Their blood spilled onto him like water bursting from a water balloon. However, it didn't seem to affect the rampaging demon in his soul right now...
Then again just about nothing could sooth it now...a heart trapped in despair and sorrow.
"Feelings...created from memories. From moments. I...I just wish to forget now. To find eternal peace. It's always the same...but, it never really happens!"
And with that cry, the last angel had fallen.
