Drift five~ Because of you

In the city of mirwi, a central city of trade for all over earth to mars. A tall mostly glass decorated skyscraper stood at the center of this magnificent technological achievement. The black shaded glass made the insides of the tower seem as though it was always night, the perfect atmosphere for any lover of the darkness and a typical headquarters for the black crusaders. This city was famous for its close link to mars mainly due to its craft launcher that makes use of electrically charged magnets to repel spacecrafts with so much force that they’ll reach the galactic space station in between the two planets. And from there the space station will launch the craft to mars. In return the process is repeated in mars as well and goods are transported to earth. As the earth rotates around the sun and is constantly spinning on its own axis, goods can only be transported over a certain period of time in one year. After the comfort zone, any goods launched would most likely not be able to reach mars.

In the enormous male bathroom of the famous black tower, three fellow black crusader members stood in attention in front of their commander. A rumored ruthless man with no hesitation to kill or fire anyone, rumored just to make people fear him when in fact...he was just a stand in for the real commander. He was a middle-aged man, kind of short compared to his colleagues and had a distinguishing bushy moustache under his black sunglasses. He was sitting comfortably behind his nicely placed desk in the bathroom before all of a sudden standing up and shouting towards the crusaders. "Are you telling me that even with two jets and an fully upgraded EVO unit, that one insignificant VIPER got away from you three?"

"Well technically, our EVO hasn't been fine tune yet...and come on! How do you expect us to catch something that was able to vanish into thin air!" one of them stepped up to defend them. His hair long and smooth covered his frustrated eyes from the disappointed commander. "You lost the runaway Krion... Am I right?" the commander asked once more. Not being able to deny the truth, Krion could only nod silently for his response. "Well then you three shall face the punishment." The commander ordered as he took out three plungers from behind him. "But sir!" the three protested but their pleas were unheard and they were still handed the plungers. "No buts! You three failed and now you have to face the consequences and plunge down the waste in those toilet bowls."

Knowing that there was no way out, the three took hold of their plungers and began their work. Each desperately working hard to dispose of the disgusting waste in the toilet bowls. "Sheesh! What kind of punishment is this anyway? For goodness sake why can't we hire a plumber to fix these cubicles?" the female of the three complained as she pushed the flush button only to have the water splashing upwards, almost hitting her.

"Well our organization isn't exactly funded by charity you know? Besides this serves as a very morale boosting punishment. Wouldn't you say?" The commander explained as he busily looked through the paperwork on his desk. There was no reply for a moment. "There's another thing I don't get sir, why are you here?" a dashing purple haired crusader asked curiously.

"Well Teris as you know my office is under renovations, and well I needed a place to continue my work...so here I am."

Just as the commander finished his explanation, Krion heard from the opposite cubicle, "Now, now Rika he's not gay...I'm sure he has his reason." Teris seemed to be talking to himself again...or perhaps someone else? Krion had caught his colleague talking to this Rika person for more then one occasion, and each time there was no one there. Krion couldn't be sure if he was insane or perhaps Rika was his split personality. Well whoever she or he was, that comment made Krion chuckled. Before asking the commander, "Why here then?"

"Well it's the only place that isn't hooked up with a spy camera, and well...it's convenient for me as well. Now...if you'll excuse me, I have other business to attend to." As the commander finished his last explanation, he made his way to the nearest cubicle and well...did his business. A moment later, a very disturbed "Ewww!" was shouted.

Three hours later the three were finally done with their work and decided that it was time to take a break by going out for some fresh air. On their way out, they witness a young man shouting desperately to the lady working at the information counter. "She's been taken away by force! Don't tell me you so called crusaders of justice are just going to sit by and do nothing?"

"I'm sorry sir but without confirmation that the culprit is in the old castle, we cannot just launch our people. Its been forbidden that no one is allowed in there without authorization." The lady pleaded as she tried to calm the man down.

"What crap is that? You people are just trying to get out of going after that angel! Don't you see how urgent the situation is? He kidnapped her and escaped into the castle! If we don't go after them soon...she may forever be lost from me! I...I can't let that happen!"

At that moment, from those desperate heart felt words of the young man...Krion could help it but sympathized with him.

"Recently there had been numerous reports of angels kidnapping teenage girls. I suspect...it was the same case with her." A younger Teris preached the young teen as he placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. The two were standing solemnly, close to the edges of a cliff where the teenager’s lover was supposed to wait. Yes...he was late, but she wasn't at home...or at the possible places. It was the only answer left.

"Helpless."

"What?"

"I couldn't do anything to prevent this...and so I deem myself helpless."

"Oh forget it! I'm going there myself!" the young man snapped as he began storming out of the building. But just as he was supposed to leave, Krion got hold of his shoulder and told the man to follow him. Teris could immediately see where the troubled ones where heading by the direction Krion was running to. His partner worried for the two, stepped up and asked, "Would it be okay to let them go just like that?"

"We wouldn't be able to stop them anyway. When it comes to the matters of the heart...one would even go to the ends of the world if he must."

In a matter of moments, the two were riding out of the hanger on Krion's own custom upgraded motorcycle. It had large side skirts, and a slick black design shape with an armored head to knock down obstacles ahead. The old castle they were going to was actually part of a museum. There, contained many artifacts of the past. Stuff that where made before the world was plunging into darkness, before mars and earth made contact, the place where many legends of the worlds came from. Therefore this historical site had become more or less a forbidden area where no one was supposed to trespass unless given permission and escorted in. However if you look at it in a criminal sort of way, if you could get in...it would become an excellent hideout. As the two were nearing the castle, Krion noticed that there were only two guards in their way in order to get across the bridge that would let them straight into the castle’s doors. "Hold on tight!" Krion suggested as he placed the full throttle on his cycle, causing them to dash forward while accelerating quickly. The guards were caught by surprise as the cycle forcefully broke through their gates and headed towards the run downed castle. The guards gave chase at first but as soon as the cycle was in the castle walls and the two trespassers were escaping through the first corridors, the guards no longer dared to continue onwards. Krion and the young man then quickly got off the cycle and began their search through the rooms of old relics.

"He's some where here...I just know it!" The young man assured himself as they walked by ancient relics ranging from paintings of angels and devils, to armors, swords and even old scrolls written in a language that no one thus far had been able to decipher. They were all impressive looking, and oddly didn't bear any smell whatsoever. "What's your name?" Krion asked as they proceeded through another door and into another room. "It's Aaron." the man replied as he took a good look of the next room. It was pretty much empty except for the human size statue of a hooded reaper with black angel wings extending outwards from its back. "Nice..." Krion commented as they went closer to take a better look. However just as Krion was about to place a hand on the art piece, a loud crashing sound could be heard from the room opposite them. "He's there!" the young man cried out but was stopped from rushing to the room by Krion's extended free arm. "I know..." Krion explained as they slowly approached the old wooden door. When it was opened, they could clearly see the angel looking for something in a messy scroll cupboard. He had yellowish short hair and was pretty much half naked so that he could extend his wings. The lady they were looking for was lying on the floor peacefully. She seemed to be soundly asleep, other then that she looked perfectly fine. "Give her back to me!" the young man shouted all of a sudden, startling the angel. Gracefully he turned back to take a look at the ones who had disturbed his search.

"Ah...you came...surprisingly. I thought all humans were cowards only worrying about themselves." he recognized and mocked. Unable to stand the angel's words, Krion ordered the angel, "Return her!"

"That...I'm afraid I cannot do." The angel finally answered as with a wave of his hand, he sent the two flying back into the other room with an invisible force that shut the door as they flew. Landing almost on the other side of the room, Krion quickly got back up angrily and began charging back towards the previous room. However a giant scythe swinging downwards harshly stopped him in his steps. Turning to the direction of the scythe, Krion saw the incredibly crafted statue slowly gaining life. Soon the reaper was alive and breathing heavily. Its hood covering any sight of its face as it fell onto the floor. Crawling a few steps before trying to stand up, the reaper took a deep breath and gave out a terrifying roar. Aaron was shocked beyond believe by the sight and took a few steps backwards till he found himself backed up onto a wall. Trying his best to keep his distance from the creature.

"Now this...is impressive." Krion commented excitedly as he drew his custom twin swords from under his coat. The reaper's eyes glowed brightly upon Krion's words and it gave a mighty swing of his weapon at its admirer. Krion blocked the swing, but the impact sent him flying into a wall. Swiftly Krion twisted his body to land horizontally on his legs and then repelling himself back by kicking the very same wall. The reaper's movement was too slow to react and Krion sliced off one of its arms to reduce his fall back onto the floor. The reaper in response swung its scythe at Krion again instead of screaming in pain. Stunned by the unexpected events, Krion found himself almost being stabbed by the weapon's blade if not for the creature's lousy aim. However he was still knocked back by the handle and accidentally tripped and fell. The reaper giving no time for Krion to recover continued its vicious attack with another swing downwards. In the nick of time, Krion was luckily able to block the incoming attack. The impact caused his entire body to sink further into the ground as he cried out in frustration, "I'm not...I'm definitely not going to let such a thing end me!" Using every last ounce of strength left in him he slowly lifted the scythe upwards with his crossed swords and began slowly getting back up onto his feet. "Not you, not him. Not even that annoying angel!" Krion shouted as he slanted his body to one side while allowing the scythe to swing down, nicely missing him. And with a few light-footed steps, Krion made a spin and slashed off the reaper's other arm. This time the creature growled in frustration, as it took a few steps backwards before all of a sudden returning back to its original form...an inanimate object. "Awe...awesome..." Aaron exclaimed as he approached the panting, worn out teenager.

"No...I'm still not strong enough." Krion disagreed as he tried to catch his breath while barely standing up. "But still...why did you fought so hard to help me?" Aaron couldn't help but ask when he saw Krion dragging himself towards the wooden door. Krion decided not to answer, as he opened it and found that the room was now missing of an angel and a lady, he couldn't help but collapse...he had lost another lead...there was no longer a reason to go on with their search.

Where am I?
You're awake.
I'm awake?

You know...perhaps...you weren't meant to save anyone...perhaps the only person you should be saving...is yourself.

Myself huh?
Do I need saving?
Yes...desperately.
Then my reason to go on stays the same...
Why?
Only she could save me...my heart...will accept no one else.

Haha...

"I see...so that's why he fought so desperately...something similar happened to him as well..." Aaron said to himself while standing at a corner of the medic room. Right after Krion had fainted, his fellow black crusaders ironically arrived and brought him to their own medic room in the black tower. The very same lady that was serving punishment with Krion before was now at his bedside. Whispering into his ear, and oddly the worn out teenager was whispering back. Soon they were done and the lady was just about to leave, when the observing young man asked, "Is he going to be alright?"

"Yeah...he just need some rest." The lady replied as she turned the doorknob, but stopped when she realized that there was more that needed to be asked. "So...what are you going to do now?"

"I'm not too sure as well..."

"Well what ever choice you make...I hope you choose wisely. There are the things that we want to do...but then again, those things may not be the things that we can do."

"I understand...but I wonder what choice would Krion's one be then?"

"Did you need to ask? Obviously one of a very stubborn fool."
